How are Epoxy Coated Rebar Manufactured?
What is Epoxy Coated Rebar?
Epoxy coated rebar also referred to as green rebar, is used in concrete subjected to corrosive conditions. These may include exposure to deicing salts or marine environments. Epoxy coated rebar or corrosion resistant rebar is utilized in the following structures:
*Bridges *Parking structures *Pavement *Marine structures *Repair work
How are Epoxy-Coated Reinforcement Bars Manufactured?
Process flow: Surface treatment, intermediate frequency heating, electrostatic spraying, high temperature curing, quality inspection.
1.Surface treatment:Remove rust from ordinary steel bars and ensure that the surface is clean and free of impurities.
2.Intermediate frequency heating: Using two sets of single to single heating devices to avoid uneven heating.
3.Electrostatic spraying:Epoxy resin powder is sprayed onto the surface of steel bars through high-voltage electrostatic spraying, and the powder particles are uniformly adsorbed and fused together.
4.High temperature curing:Curing at around 230 ℃ to form a continuous and dense epoxy resin protective layer of 0.15-0.30mm.
5.Quality inspection :Strictly test the coating thickness, adhesion, and corrosion resistance to ensure that the product meets national standards.
